CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Dr. Cotler is Chief Executive Officer of GelMEDIX after a series of increasing roles starting from the founding in 2020. Prior to GelMEDIX, he completed his PhD in Medical Engineering from MIT in the Harvard-MIT Program in Health Sciences and Technology with a research background in drug delivery systems and translational medicine. His research ranged from chronic brain implants for modulating highly specific neural circuits to utilizing machine learning to predict optimal cancer treatments utilizing a 24 hour micro-implant assay resulting numerous conference presentations and publications. Dr. Cotler was an MIT Presidential Fellow and NSF Graduate Research Fellow and holds a BS in Biomedical Engineering from Boston University.
Chief Technology Officer
Dr. Vera-Gonzalez is the Chief Technology Officer of GelMEDIX, leading the development of the the hydrogel platform since 2021. He completed his PhD and postdoctoral training in Biomedical Engineering from Brown University with a research focus on responsive hydrogel systems and targeted lipid nanoparticles to improve drug delivery and the treatment of fungal infections. He is an expert in biomaterials engineering and drug delivery with multiple publications and presentations. Dr. Vera-Gonzalez was an NSF Graduate Research Fellow and NSF Innovation-Corps Entrepreneurial Lead and holds a BSE in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University.
Senior Research Associate
Mr. Speros is the Senior Research Associate for GelMEDIX, executing key R&D studies since 2021. He is a biomedical engineer with a focus on drug delivery and holds a BS in Biomedical Engineering from Drexel University.
